The UWS Careers Service provides career development support during studies and for up to five years after graduation. Accommodation at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) is designed to provide students with a safe, comfortable, and supportive living environment that enhances both academic and personal development. More than just a place to stay, UWS accommodation helps students build friendships, enjoy university life, and become part of a welcoming community from the very beginning of their studies.

UWS offers a variety of self-catered accommodation options across selected campuses, giving students the flexibility to choose a living style that suits their preferences and lifestyle. Whether students prefer the social atmosphere of shared flats or the privacy of studio-style living, UWS accommodation combines convenience, comfort, and accessibility.

The university’s Ayr and Paisley campuses provide dedicated student accommodation located close to teaching facilities, gyms, Students’ Union spaces, transport links, shops, and restaurants. All residences are designed to support independent student living while ensuring help and guidance are always available through the dedicated Residence Life Team.

At the Paisley Campus, students benefit from modern accommodation that recently underwent a £17.6 million redevelopment. The residences include en-suite rooms and shared apartments equipped with essential student facilities.

• Storie Street Accommodation – Located in the heart of the Paisley Campus with direct access to university facilities, the Students’ Union, the gym, and Paisley town centre.
• Lady Lane Accommodation – Situated on the west side of the campus, offering spacious self-catering one and two-bedroom flats with easy access to buses, shops, restaurants, nightlife, and Paisley Gilmour Street train station.

Students living at the Ayr Campus enjoy accommodation near the River Ayr, providing scenic surroundings and convenient access to the university, local transport, Ayr train station, and the town centre. The location offers an ideal balance between a peaceful environment and city convenience.

All university accommodation is self-catered and includes modern facilities such as high-speed Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, and 24/7 security, ensuring students have a safe and connected living experience throughout their studies.

For students studying at the Lanarkshire, Dumfries, or London campuses, UWS does not directly provide university-managed accommodation. Students at these campuses generally arrange private accommodation or privately managed residences. Accommodation at the Dumfries Campus is operated in partnership with the University of Glasgow and is located close to campus facilities.

UWS also supports international students through its accommodation process. International students are guaranteed university accommodation during their first year, provided they apply within the required deadlines. This commitment helps students transition smoothly into university life and settle confidently into their new environment.
