The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) was formed in August 2007 following the merger of the University of Paisley and Bell College, creating one of Scotland's most prominent modern universities. Today, UWS boasts a student body of more than 16,000 students from across the globe and operates across four campuses: Paisley, Ayr, Lanarkshire, and Dumfries. • Pre-sessional English Courses: These courses help international students improve their English skills before starting their degree programme. Courses run for 5-8 weeks before the beginning of the term.
• Buddy System: New international students can join a buddy system, pairing them with current students to help them settle into life at UWS and Scotland.
