Scholarships offered to Indian students
These scholarships offer Indian students opportunities to pursue their education in the UK with financial support and various benefits. There are University based and Government based scholarships:
1. British Chevening Scholarships: Fully funded scholarships for international students, including Indians, covering education expenses, flight fares, and living expenses. Each scholarship is valued at a minimum of £10,000 (Rs 10.43 lakh) to cover tuition fees for a one-year course.
2. Rhodes Scholarships at the University of Oxford: Applications are invited from outstanding graduates holding at least a first class honours degree in Pure or Applied Sciences, Humanities, Law or Medicine of Indian Universities for five scholarships, for a course of study leading to a degree of the University of Oxford (UK). Candidates in the final year of their degree courses with exceptional academic record may also apply. Candidates must demonstrate their continuing interest and achievement in extra curricular activities such as sports, theatre and community work. This prestige scholarship for academically talented students, covering tuition costs, airfare, and providing a monthly stipend.GBP 59,490 (approximately INR 6,276,759 to INR 6,282,748) annually, covering college fees, living costs, and air tickets.
3. Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships: Fully funded scholarships for doctoral students in economics, social sciences, and technology, covering airfare, tuition,a UKK visa, and monthly stipends. Worth over GBP18,000 (approximately INR 1,888,580 to INR 1,895,760), covering tuition fees, living expenses, travel costs, and visa expenses. 4. Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan: Fully funded scholarships sponsored by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, & Development Office, covering tuition fees, airfare, and providing monthly stipends.
5. GREAT Scholarships: The GREAT Scholarships are a program funded by the UK government and the British Council. They are offered to talented students from India who want to pursue a one-year postgraduate course at a participating UK university. GREAT Scholarships cover tuition fees for one year of a postgraduate course.
6. University of Oxford Scholarships: The University of Oxford offers several scholarships specifically for Indian students. These scholarships include the Inlaks Scholarships, the Rhodes Scholarships, and the St. Catherine's College Scholarships for Indian Students.
7. University of Cambridge Scholarships: The University of Cambridge offers many scholarships specifically for Indian students. These scholarships include the Gates Cambridge Scholarship, the Nehru Scholarship, and the Tata Scholarship.
8. UKRI AI Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Biomedical Innovation: The UKRI and the University of Edinburgh are offering 10-12 fully funded PhD to train Inter-Disciplinary Scientists to Innovate in Biomedical Artificial Intelligence Research. Applications deadline is in April end and interviews will be conducted in May each year.
9. British Council Scholarships for women in STEM: Each year British Council India along with participating UK Universites offering multiple scholarships to Indian female student looking to do their master degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths
