For Indian students aiming to study in the UK, meeting the eligibility criteria is crucial. The requirements vary based on the degree level and university chosen.

Undergraduate Programs:

  • Direct Entry
  • International Baccalaureate (IB): Usually 34–38 points, with HL scores between 7, 6, 6 – 6, 5, 5 (subject-specific requirements may apply) to top-ranked universities. And as low as 26 points to other universities
  • Indian Standard XII (CBSE & ISC): Minimum of 51% to between 90-95% overall score (subject-specific conditions may apply).
  • Other Regional Boards: Minimum of 60% overall score (subject-specific requirements may apply)
  • Students who do not meet the requirements can apply to UK Universities through Universities foundation programs.

Postgraduate Programs:

  • Completion of a three-year degree with first-class to second-class from a reputable university (typically ranging from 50-80%, depending on the institution's standards)
  • Requires a work experience of 2 years to 5 years for the particular programs in Business Schools but, not mandatory.
  • Students who do not meet the requirements can apply to UK Universities through Universities premaster programs

PhD programs

  • In the UK, to enroll in a PhD program, a prospective student generally needs an upper second-class bachelor's degree, a recognized master's degree, and proof of English language proficiency with a minimum IELTS score of 7.0.
  • Requirements may vary slightly among universities and courses.
  • Students who do not meet the requirements can apply to UK Universities Master's in Research programs

English Language Proficiency:

  • Acceptable English tests include IELTS, TOEFL iBT, Language Cert and Duolingo, among others
  • Some universities may consider English proficiency from Indian Standard XII exams based on the board and achieved scores.
  • MOI - Medium of instruction in English if they have studied UG degree or worked in the company if applicable ( this option is very limited)

  • Valid Qualifications Degree Certificate ( if applicable)
  • Academic Transcripts (from High School onwards)
  • Proof of English Proficiency (can be provided later)
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Reference Letters
  • Relevant Work Experience (if applicable)

Visa Essentials:

  • Obtain a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from the chosen university.
  • Demonstrate adequate financial resources to cover tuition fees and living expenses in the UK.
  • Possess a valid passport or acceptable travel document.
  • Pay the immigration health surcharge and visa fee.
  • UKVI visa interview (if called by visa authority)
